Whitestone Lake Central School in Dunchurch hosted an Open House on
March 6th, 2017 in order to celebrate the Fish Hatchery
that the Whitestone Rod and Gun Club purchased for the School.
The School received the Fish Hatchery before Christmas,
and started Eggs in it in January.
The Grade 6/7/8 children are responsible for the Fish Hatchery,
along with their teacher, Jeff Thomas.
The Whitestone Rod and Gun Club purchased the Fish Hatchery
with funds from their annual Ice Fishing Derby and Draws.
The School is very grateful for this unique learning opportunity,
and the Whitestone Rod and Gun Club will be releasing the Eggs into local Bodies of Water (approved by the MNRF) in the spring.
This is a win win situation for the Community!
