Recycling
The Municipality of Whitestone is dedicated to waste reduction and environmental sustainability by investing in a recycling program. The Municipality accepts materials for recycling at Auld's and York Street landfill sites effective immediately. The Recycling Council of Ontario ⇒ has more information about recycling initiatives in this province.
Recyclables shall be separated into two (2) streams.

- mixed papers
- office papers
- brown paper bags
- Stream Two: recyclable containers
- glass bottles & jars
- metal beverage cans
- metal food cans
- plastic soft drink bottles
- rigid plastic bottles
- aluminum trays
- aluminum foil
- styrofoam food trays
